Anna Wilcoxson Appointed Saint Joseph High School Golf Coach
“There are many reasons I’m so pleased that Anna will be guiding our girls golf team, not the least of which is that she is a tremendous player who also excelled in the classroom, both in high school and college,” said Deb Brown, athletic director for the Indians. “She will be a wonderful role model for our student-athletes.”
Wilcoxson stated, “I am honored to be the new Saint Joseph High School Girls Golf Coach. I look forward to a very successful season for our team with the goal of returning to the State Tournament and improving on last year’s finish!"
After her illustrious high school career at Saint Joe, Wilcoxson attended Western Michigan University, where she majored in exercise science with minors in biology, holistic health and wellness. Named to the Women’s Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholar Team each of her four years in college, she set numerous team and individual records and WMU and was a four-time all-conference selection.
“I so appreciate her allegiance to Saint Joe, which speaks volumes to the loyalty our alumni have to the school,” said Brown. “She has walked in the shoes of our players and will provide them with the on-the-course coaching and off-the-course support that makes interscholastic sports such a positive experience for young people.”
Wilcoxson twice won the Indiana Women’s Golf Association amateur championship and has played on the Symetra Tour the past two years.
