New Assistant Principals Announced at Saint Joseph High School

Saint Joseph High School is happy to announce the appointment of two new assistant principals for the 2019-20 school year. Mr. Corey Luczynski is filling the Assistant Principal for Student Life post, while Ms. Mary P. Gallagher steps in as the new Assistant Principal for Academics.

Corey is a dedicated member of St. Matt's Parish and comes to Saint Joe with extensive teaching and administrative experience in the South Bend school system. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in elementary education at Indiana State University, followed by his master’s in education and school leadership from Indiana Wesleyan University.

Corey has been involved in education since 2000 as a teacher, moving to leadership in 2014. Formerly the Assistant Principal at Riley High School, Corey's knowledge, skills, energy, and integrity will allow him to make a positive impact on our students and all aspects of Saint Joseph High School.

“As the new Assistant Principal for Student Life, I am excited to build a lasting relationship with the students, parents, staff, and community who help make Saint Joe the amazing school it has been for years,” said Luczynski of his new position. “Having the opportunity to further my servant leadership as well as strengthen my relationship with God guided my decision to come to Saint Joe.”

Ms. Mary P. Gallagher is a Saint Joe alumna from the Class of 1995 and has worked in the English department while serving as an instructional coach at Saint Joe since 2017. Mary has been working as an instructor since 1999 and amassed administrative experience throughout the years.

Mary graduated from the esteemed Mary Ann Remick Leadership Program at the University of Notre Dame. Prior to Notre Dame, Mary attended Creighton University for her undergraduate studies, and earned her Master of Arts in teaching from the University of Portland.

I am looking forward to maintaining a connection with the students, helping teachers to continue to grow in their field, creating a sense of community with parents, alumni, staff, faculty, and students,” said Gallagher. “I look forward to continuing to develop Saint Joe High School into the most stellar academic institution that is dedicated to transforming students in heart and mind, preparing them to serve God, the Church, and the world.”

“I am delighted that God has led me back here, in order to serve my own community in this way.

The new assistant principals are now on campus and working hard to prepare for the first day of classes on Wednesday, August 14th.
