How do I apply for admission to Saint Joseph High School?
An applicant must submit an online application located on our website. Applications for the academic school year 2020-2021 will be available in early October 2019. All incoming prospective students new to the school are required to take a High School Placement Test. The primary High School Placement Test (HSPT) date is November 16, 2019. The alternate date is December 7, 2019. If your son/daughter is unable to take the test on either of the scheduled days, please call 574-233-6137 for other testing dates.
Do you make testing accommodations for students with IEPs?
Students with an IEP/ILP or CaLP should make a reservation for testing on one of the two test dates. Extended time is given for students with IEP/ILP or CaLP. A copy of the IEP/ILP or CaLP must be submitted. Please call the school at 233-6137 ext. 524 to make a reservation.
Does Saint Joseph High School accept transfer students?
Yes, application for all grades is subject to available space and to the review and recommendation of the Saint Joseph High School Admission Committee. Every student must possess the educational background necessary to reach his/her fullest potential in order to be admitted.
Do transfer students need to take the Placement Test?
Transfer students do take a placement test. An appropriate placement test will be administered to accepted transfer students prior to the beginning of school.Transfer students will need to send a copy of their high school transcript, all standardized testing, and a current high school schedule to the attention of the Director of Admissions. 
How can prospective students visit Saint Joe?
The Open House on Sunday, November 10, 2019, provides an opportunity to meet our students, faculty, administrators, co-curricular moderators, and coaches. It's a good time to explore the academic departments and the diverse co-curricular offerings.
The Discover Saint Joe Day on Friday, October 11, 2019, is designed for 8th graders to experience a day at Saint Joe High School. Visiting 8th graders receive a class schedule and visit a variety of classes including English, Social Studies, Fine Arts, Math, Science, Theology and World Languages.  
We encourage you to visit with us and tour the building during school hours. Call the admissions office for more information and to make an appointment.
How is course placement determined for freshmen?
High School Placement Test scores, 7th and 8th-grade test scores, and teacher recommendations are used to make the recommendations for course placement. The on-site registration conference allows the parents and student to discuss the recommendations and the student's interests. Proper placement is a collaborative process.
What is the cost of tuition and is tuition assistance available?
Tuition is set by the Bishop in late fall. We encourage you to submit the 2019 FACTS financial aid application after January 1, 2019. The FACTS financial aid form must be completed online by February 28, 2019, in order to be considered for tuition assistance. Assistance is based on demonstrated need. Call the Business Office (574-233-6137 ext. 530) for more information about financial aid. Is there a dress code at Saint Joe?
Yes, the student body should, through their dress and appearance, present a sense of community pride. Attire should be neat, clean, modest, and discreet. The dress code requires students to wear a Saint Joe shirt and khaki pants/skorts. The full dress code can be found in the student handbook.
